iPXE booting

We could suppotr directly booting using iPXE. We could boot both a FAI installer environment, as well as a a live image configured in the FAI structures in Kompjuter.

This issue, for now, collects brainstorming results.

Findings from Debian Reunion Hamburg 2022:

• UEFI HTTP can just load iPXE form an HTTP URL
• iPXE can chainload scripts from HTTP
• iPXE can be built with an embedded script
  • This requires building iPXE from source, so we cannot really do this on the fly in AlekSIS
• iPXE can boot the Debian kernel live mode with squashfs, kernel and initrd
• iPXE can configure a graphical console, including a background image loaded from HTTP
• iPXE can pass system infromation (like MAC, UUID, asset tag,…) on the URLs
  • either manually, or by using HTML form encoding support

Ideas:

• Generate an iPXE script from an AlekSIS endpoint
  • Containing a menu with "profiles", as configured by this AlekSIS instance
• Provide a default kernel, initrd, iPXE image on aleksis.org (or use that from Debian live)
• Provide a wrapper iPXE script on aleksis.org
  • With prompts for AlekSIS base URL, username, password
  • chainload into script generated by that instance
